Membership Categories
Board Members:
- Board members are the trustees of the association and carry on the business of the association at quarterly board meetings, or when a quorum is present for pressing business.
- Board members have the right to vote.
- Board members are elected by a majority of the voting members of the board, up to a maximum of 15 trustees.
- To be nominated to the board, it is required that a person first be a general working member and attend at least two board meetings in a year.
- Board members are allowed to schedule the use of the office, as described in the policies and procedures of the usage policy.
- Board members pay $25 dues a year.
- If a board member becomes inactive, the possible termination as voting board member will return their membership status to general member:
- If a voting trustee member misses half the officially scheduled board meetings in a 12 month period, their membership status is automatically added to the next meeting agenda. At that time, the voting members will reconsider the status of the member, as a voting trustee member.
General Members:
- General members are invited to all board meetings and relevant committee meetings and participate in the business of the association.
- General members are encouraged to serve on committees.
- General members may participate in presentations, events, projects and experiments.
- General members are encouraged to make proposals to the board and participate in the work of the association to contribute their expertise, skills and resources.
- General members cannot sponsor facility usage.
- General members do not have voting rights.
Student Members:
- Student membership is the same as General Member, except dues are $10 per year.
