Presentation Objectives

The last ten years have seen an explosion of new research on how our brains achieve peak and optimal performance. A tool for directly promoting these levels of performance is brain wave biofeedback. At this INACS presentation you will:

Learn and observe how brain wave biofeedback can improve both low and high functioning areas of work and life performance;

Understand how brain wave biofeedback can increase receptivity to spirituality and deeper life insights (feelings, body awareness, interpersonal relationship systems); and

Identify optimal brain performance practices you can use to achieve more successes in your life.

Presentation Outline:

Achieve optimal performance by balancing brain waves in desired areas of improvement: Calmer, Sleep Better, Improve Decision-Making, Improve Memory

Complete Optimal Performance Self –Assessment: Short Form

Obtain peak performance in Sports, Arts, and Cognitive abilities through brain wave biofeedback like Sean Casey, major league baseball player

Achieve greater receptivity to Spirituality and deeper life insights

Identify optimal brain performance practices you can use to achieve more successes in your life on your own

I just sent you an answer telepathically. For those of you who need to communicate in a more traditional manner, the answer is yes. Austin is home to the Institute for Neuroscience and Consciousness Studies, a nonprofit organization whose membership includes doctors in the field of psychology. Stephen Miles Lewis, vice president of the group, defines parapsychology as the science of anomalous cognition, or nontraditional means of thinking and awareness. The group’s mission is to “expand the scientific understanding of human consciousness and to develop practical applications of this understanding for public benefit, by conducting scientific research in psi (psychic abilities) and related phenomena and by offering educational opportunities to the public.”Research topics include lucid dreams and other altered states of consciousness. The group meets periodically (its most recent meeting took place at BookPeople and featured the author of a book on hypnosis). For more information, visit www.inacs.org. Lewis is also involved in the Anomaly Archive, www.anomalyarchives.org, which maintains a library of books related to parapsychology for its members.

Developing a Dialogue with the Deeper Self; A group for inner exploration and outer sharing

The proposed group is designed for individuals who wish to explore methods to open a dialogue and connection with their “deeper selves.” The deeper self has been referred to by many names over the years, from Freud’s “unconscious,” to Jung’s “Self” or “collective unconscious,” to “subconscious”, “super-conscious,” etc. Although all these terms have a slightly different meaning, they also overlap to a great degree. They all refer to a deeper, more knowing aspect of the self that is more connected to levels of reality much deeper than our day-to-day surface reality.

Many methods and techniques of self-exploration have been proposed as leading to the deeper self. In this group, we will study various methods and each participant will select one or more that appeals personally to him or herself. Each individual will then study this method and practice it on a regular basis, reporting back to the group on his or her experiences. In this way, the individuals in the group will contribute to a rich group experience as we explore and learn from each other. Some of the techniques that might be explored include:

Hypnagogic and Hypnapompic phenomena (sensations on the sleep-wake boundary)

* Meditation (of various forms)
* Dream exploration
* Lucid dreaming
* Energetic development
* Out-of-body experience (OBE)
* Remote-viewing

These are a few examples of the types of techniques that individuals will study and may choose to select as their personal vehicle to develop a dialogue with the deeper self. Many of these techniques appear to share a developing awareness of hypnagogic and hypnapompic imagery, so this area will be explored in depth.

The group will meet on a monthly basis for an initial period of 6 months to one year. If you’re interested, please contact Sirley Bonham at 210 310-5432.
